Brewing Change: Make Good Celebrates La Taza Community Coffeehouse’s Launch

About This Series

This article is part of the Advocacy Spotlights series.

La Taza Community Coffeehouse in Lake Elsinore launched in July 2024 after years of work that looked more like partnership than consulting. Make Good’s involvement covered the full arc — narrative development, fundraising strategy, media and communications, interior and exterior design, and community engagement — because that’s what it actually takes to move a mission-driven business from concept to an open door. La Taza is the kind of project that shows what nonprofit consulting produces when it goes beyond advice.

After years of collaboration, strategic planning, and dedicated effort, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of La Taza Community Coffeehouse in Lake Elsinore, California. This momentous occasion, set for July 23, 2024, marks a significant milestone not just for La Taza, but for the entire Lake Elsinore community and for us at Make Good.

As a nonprofit coffee shop, La Taza represents more than just a place to grab your daily caffeine fix. It’s a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives and the impact of strategic nonprofit consulting. From the very beginning, Make Good has been deeply involved in every aspect of La Taza’s journey, showcasing our comprehensive approach to empowering purpose-driven organizations.

Partnering for the Community

Our partnership with La Taza began with helping them craft their story and vision. We worked closely with the team to develop a narrative that resonated with their mission of creating a community hub dedicated to bringing people together and reinvesting in Lake Elsinore. This storytelling process was crucial in laying the foundation for their fundraising efforts, which we also supported through our expertise in nonprofit development.

Beyond the initial conceptualization and fundraising, Make Good’s involvement extended to practical, hands-on support. We lent our expertise in media and communications, ensuring that La Taza’s message reached and engaged the right audiences. Our design team worked on both interior and exterior aesthetics, creating a welcoming space that reflects La Taza’s community-centric ethos.

It All Starts Here

The soft launch on July 23rd is just the beginning. La Taza will be open Tuesday through Sunday, with varying hours to accommodate different community needs. Located at 142 North Main Street, it’s poised to become a central fixture in Lake Elsinore’s growing community landscape.

What sets La Taza apart – and what makes us particularly proud of this project – is its deep commitment to community partnerships. From sourcing plants from House of Succulents to featuring pastries from Panadería La Guadalupana, every aspect of La Taza’s operation is designed to support and showcase local talent.

The Make Good Approach

This project exemplifies Make Good’s holistic approach to nonprofit consulting. We don’t just offer advice; we roll up our sleeves and work alongside our clients to bring their visions to life. From conceptualization to execution, from fundraising to marketing, and from design to community engagement, we’re there every step of the way.

La Taza’s journey from concept to reality demonstrates the power of strategic planning, community engagement, and perseverance. As they open their doors this July, they’re not just serving coffee – they’re serving hope, fostering connections, and brewing positive change in Lake Elsinore.

For nonprofits looking to make a tangible impact in their communities, La Taza serves as an inspiring model. It shows how a clear vision, combined with strategic support and community buy-in, can transform into a thriving reality that benefits everyone involved.

We at Make Good are honored to have played a part in bringing La Taza to life, and we’re excited to see the positive ripples it will create in Lake Elsinore and beyond. If you’re a nonprofit leader with a vision for community transformation, we’d love to talk about how we can help you turn that vision into reality.

Join us in celebrating La Taza’s soft launch, and stay tuned for news about their grand opening celebration in the coming months. Together, we can create more spaces that foster community, drive positive change, and make good in the world, one cup of coffee at a time.
